Osmo K. Oksanen (1916–1978)

Year: 1950's
Measures: 66 x 99 cm
Background: We believe his little fellow is the most travelled boy in the world. In the shop we already have a winter version of the same poster, but here he is about to conquer the world with his umbrella (better safe than sorry, aye?). And of course he chooses to travel by train, the best way to see the world. Mr Oksanen knew it, his little fellow knows it and we know it. Trains forever!
The poster advertises the Finnish State Railway and their "Circuit tours" campaign, basically cheap train tickets during the post-war years so that the Finns could discover their country.
Commercial artist Osmo K. Oksanen also made many film posters; among others he created the poster for the Finnish film Unknown Soldier (1955). Already in the 1940's he was frequently asked to help the Finnish State Railway with their advertisement. Mr Oksanen belongs to the cream of Finnish poster artists and that is why we offer two of his works.
